An annual August weekend of drag racing on the Wawa airport runway that began around 2012.
History
The Wawa municipal council approved a drag race at the Wawa Airport in 2012. Run under NHRA sanction, the Northern Nationals Drag Race became a yearly event. The 2020 race was canceled because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Background
Wawa Airport is a small registered airport about two miles south-southwest of town. Its regular traffic is charter passenger flights, private planes and medevac aircraft.
