No one has pinned down where this strip was yet.
The Ventura City Council approved a 1,400-yard drag strip on part of Pierpont Boulevard for seven months, with races on the first Sunday of every other month. During races the city dump would close and Pierpont Boulevard would be shut south of Arundel Barranca. The Ventura Jaycees sponsored the racing. The council kept the right to cancel the deal at any time, and cars couldn’t race side by side, only make single runs against the clock.
