This eighth-mile track about five miles south of Albany started racing in late 1960. The first meet may have been the one on October 22-23, 1960, featuring Don Garlits and two twin-engine dragsters. Bill Connell ran the track in 1964, with races on Saturday nights and Sundays. Now and then it booked a feature act such as Don Nicholson’s A/FX Mercury Comet in November 1964, but most weeks it was “run what you brung.” Two people have died there, one in 1977 and one in 1992. The track now runs under NHRA sanction.
