History

When this strip first opened is unknown. According to one account, it has run on and off since at least the 1970s, is now all concrete and built to modern safety standards, and was seized by the federal government for a few years after the previous owners went to jail for drug dealing. It seems to have opened as Twiggs County Raceway, or Dragway. It ran for years as an outlaw track, and in January 2026 it joined the NHRA Member Track Network as Middle Georgia Sports Park.
