History

The Temiskaming Rod And Custom Club (TRACC) started in the 1970s as a social car club. It was revived in 2001 to keep up drag racing at the Earlton-Temiskaming Regional Airport, southwest of Earlton. Its main event was the Temiskaming Drag ’n’ Fly Summer Classic, a three-day weekend each August. There’s some evidence of racing at the airport in the mid-1990s, but 2001 is when it became a regular, better-organized annual event. The 2018 event was canceled because the airport was being used for firefighting.
