The track opened on May 7, 1967, as Tallahassee Speedway Park, with Herb Channell as president. At the May 14 race, 2,000 spectators watched 119 racers. Newspapers put it on Highway 20, five miles southwest of the Capital Circle truck route. A two-day grand opening on June 10-11, 1967, drew more than 200 racers competing for over $2,500 in cash, trophies and contingency awards. In 1969 races ran on Saturday nights, switching to Sunday daytime racing in the cooler months. Dave Youngman owned the track from about 1969 to 1971, when he and his wife Jacque moved to Bithlo to manage Central Florida Dragway. Nobody knows what year the track shut down, but it seems to have faded after the Youngmans left.
