This strip, 26 miles west of Nashville, opened in 1962 or 1963 and probably ran into the 1970s, but little has been found about it. It may simply have been called Fairview Dragway, owned by Dudley Oakley. A racer who ran there a couple of times in the late ’60s and early ’70s remembered a narrow track with a strip of trees about two feet wide growing between the lanes and more trees along both sides, maybe a foot off the edge of each lane. The return road was gravel, and getting back to the pits meant driving through a creek. The last record found is of a race on September 8, 1972, when John Anderson was critically injured after his 1943 Ford flipped several times in time trials.
