The Sunset Riders Motorcycle Club held its annual motorcycle drag races on May 13, 1962, at the club farm on Route 38 north of Butler, with proceeds going to the Butler County Crippled Children’s Fund. Night drags began in 1963, and in 1964 the club built a new half-mile track to go with the drag races. The farm had a Chicora mailing address but was closer to Butler.
