Races were probably held at the Lamar County Airport, about four miles south of Sulligent, though nothing confirms it. Sulligent Drag Strip held its first race on February 17, 1957, and raced on Sundays. At an August 1957 race, Warren Jordan won the day in his 1957 Plymouth Fury, with Billy Joe Crawford runner-up in a 1957 Ford. Polly Crawford of Vernon won the powder puff class. The Swedish magazine Start & Strip included it in a 1968 list of 325 U.S. drag strips. Nothing else has been found.
