Jean Yves Neveu and Leo Gauthier first owned this paved eighth-mile strip, just off the Trans-Canada Highway between St. Hyacinthe and Drummondville. In June 1968 Bobby Tatroe and Bob Motz brought two of Art Arfons’s jet cars, but a rain-soaked strip held them to one run. They came back in August for exhibitions on a Thursday and a Sunday. Jungle Jim Liberman raced Andy Arnold’s funny car on May 10, 1970. IHRA sanctioned the track in 1971. Tommy Grove set a funny car track record of 4.74 on June 24, 1971, and Tommy Ivo appeared on July 18.
