Around 1951 the Dallas County Sheriff set up and supervised a drag race on Singleton Avenue in Dallas, shortly before Caddo Mills held its first race later that year. The exact stretch of road isn’t known. Aerial photos of Dallas from 1952 suggest it may have been on the city’s western edge.
