Starting August 22, 1953, the Maryland Timing Association held acceleration trials at this half-mile dirt track before the regular oval races and during intermission. Ads placed it three miles south of Brooklyn on Ritchie Highway. The oval was torn down before 1971, and the site is a shopping area now.
