Hot Rod’s NHRA track listings included this strip by August 1963, racing every Sunday. A race was held on March 15, 1964, and the runway of the strip was extended to 3,180 feet in time for a two-day tri-state race on May 23-24, 1964, for which track manager Jimmy Pate put up $800. The strip was south of the airport on Highway 45, just south of Geren Road and north of the Hiram Walker whiskey plant. Its remains are very faint in current aerial photos but show clearly in a 1995 photo. Razorback Speedway, a 3/8-mile oval, ran next door from about 1964 to 1972 on land the whiskey plant now occupies.
