The International Timing Association sanctioned eighth-mile drag racing at this half-mile dirt oval, built in Myrtle Beach in 1958. Races were scheduled every Friday night, and the yearly Sun Fun drag race was held on June 3, 1960. The oval was still running as Myrtle Beach Speedway in 2015.
