C. Victor McTeer and Jacquelyn Moore filed incorporation papers for Preston Raceway on May 12, 1987, and newspapers called 1988 its second full season. Don Simmons owned the track. The racing distance was 600 feet, and with the burnout, launch pad and shutdown the whole track ran 1,700 feet. Track news appeared monthly in the Winston County Journal. By 1991 Scott Fricker held the track record with a 5.16 in his altered roadster. It closed around 1993, and by 1997 it was a landing strip called Preston Airways.
