George Stockinger’s speedway oval stood northwest of Washington Avenue and Doughty Road in Egg Harbor Township. It went by EHT Speedway, Pleasantville Speedway before 1964, and Atlantic City Speedway from 1964 to 1969. Racers called it P’ville. Drag races usually ran on Friday nights, and one of the first, maybe the very first, was on August 17, 1962. Ed Beers said the drags ran on the front stretch, from turn one to turn four.
