A Parsons city official owned this private airfield west of town and let the Queen City Pacers car club use it soon after the club formed, about six months earlier. When the Pacers joined the Missouri-Oklahoma-Kansas Timing Association (MOKTA), they opened the strip to all six MOKTA clubs. An NHRA-sanctioned race was set for July 27, 1958. In 1960 the Coffeyville-Parsons Timing Association raced there on the second and fourth Sundays. The field is now Tri-City Airport.
