Partington Pasture Speedway, a quarter-mile and half-mile dirt oval from 1941 to 1952, hosted a drag strip in 1953. Newspapers put it north of 15 Mile Road on Ryan Road. The first race ran August 30. Del Lee set a track record of 68.08 in his English Allard on September 6, and on September 27 Bob Albright set a motorcycle record of 72 mph and Henry Hovland won the stock class. The last race of the year was November 22. A 1964 aerial photo shows only the oval, with no sign of a drag strip. St. Rene Parish Church later replaced the old tracks.
