On June 21, 1959, the Ogden Timing Association held a drag race at Little Mountain, about fifteen miles west of Ogden near 750 North and 10500 West. Admission was 50 cents plus 50 cents for a pit pass, and all the money was meant to pay for hard-surfacing and improving a strip on land the Perry Land and Livestock Company had donated to the club. A second fundraising race followed on July 12, 1959. In 1963 the Coachman’s Rod and Custom Car Club asked to use part of a county road in West Warren near Little Mountain for a Sunday afternoon drag race, and the Weber County Commission said no.
