John Wagner built a quarter-mile drag strip on the east side of the Northern Raceway (or Fifth Line Raceway) oval. It was supposed to close with the oval in 1968, but Allan Gold and Larry Walls rented it for $50 a week and promoted it in 1968-69. Dick Chraftchick took over in 1970 and ran it until about 1973-74. Some knew it as Fifth Line Drag Strip.
