Adirondack Eliminators, Inc. finished building this eighth-mile strip in time for its first race on June 21, 1964. An early newspaper story reported that Mark Keilen, 20, of Latham suffered a concussion and a broken arm when his car rolled several times on September 20, 1964. In July 1966 the track held a two-day NASCAR-sanctioned meet where Jon Button set a national class record of 6.71 at 121.46 MPH. It was called Adirondack Drag Strip in 1968, when it appeared on a list of 325 U.S. drag strips in the Swedish magazine Start & Strip. In 1969 it held a Super Stock “spectacular” on three dates for racers who traveled as a circuit. Nothing has been found after 1969. A 1976 topographic map shows an airfield where the strip was, and today the site is Wonder View Road, serving a few homes.
