The Pottstown Roamers Motorcycle Club held its first AMA drag race at the airport on July 6, 1958, on an oiled dirt eighth-mile strip, and ran four drag races that year. The airport also had a quarter-mile dirt oval. On November 20, 1960, Dick Trythall of Bucktown took top eliminator and set a track record at 98 MPH. The airport is gone now, and the land is still vacant despite occasional talk of developing it.
