On November 25, 1958, a group of dignitaries dedicated the new Highway 10 between Minden and Franklin. The Franklin Jaycees sponsored drag races as part of the ceremonies. Newspapers didn’t say where the races were held, but they were probably run on the new highway before it opened to traffic.
