The drag strip was the first finished piece of a $1 million racing complex west of Wentzville, between Highway 70 and Highway 60, and held its first race August 11, 1963. The 2.89-mile road course was done in late 1965. Through early 1967 the strip ran every Sunday under NHRA sanction, with Ben Lindenbusch as manager, and by July 1967 it was under AHRA. Don Garlits, Gene Snow and Dickie Harrell raced there. The last drag race was October 31, 2004, and the property was sold for development in 2005.
