A developer built a 3.27-mile road course in the Chicago suburb of Carpentersville in 1958. Drag races ran on its 3/4-mile straightaway in only one year, 1968, and there were just a few of them. The track got NHRA sanction for the 1969 season but closed for good in 1968.
