History

This eighth-mile NHRA strip, about 80 miles southwest of Indianapolis, was built by Lloyd and Tim Thompson and their families. It may once have been called E. T. Raceway. It changed hands several times, and in recent years Ohio Oil, Inc. owned it, with company CEO Brent Jones managing. Jones abruptly announced that the property was being sold and racing would stop on July 1, 2016. According to one racer, the sale fell through and the track kept opening now and then for special events, including an appearance by Farmtruck from Street Outlaws, gasser events and diesel versus gas races. In 2018 Wagler Competition Products bought the strip. The company planned to use it mainly as a private testing facility, with a limited number of public events.
