On Sunday, August 6, 1950, drag races, billed as acceleration races, were part of a rally at the Lewis farm on the Port Clinton Road, two and a half miles northeast of Findlay. The Northwestern Ohio Motorcycle Association and the Millstream Riders of Findlay put on the event, and Paul Weimerskirch won the acceleration race.
