Little is known about this strip except that it ran through the 1960s and into the early 1970s. The earliest record is a newspaper ad for a race on August 23, 1964. A 1965 topographic map shows it just southwest of Jackson County Airport, directly north of a paved half-mile oval. That oval, built in 1967 as Jefco Speedway, is now Gresham Motorsports Park, and a paved road there today follows the old strip’s line. One researcher thinks Jefco may have been among the strips that closed after the Yellow River Drag Strip tragedy in March 1969. After that accident every strip had to have safety barriers, insurance and an ambulance on site, and many couldn’t meet the rules. A YouTube video circulating as 13 Forks Dragstrip shows things that don’t fit 13 Forks, such as an adjacent dirt oval, and it may be footage of Jefco.
