The Southern Nevada Timing Association ran NHRA-sanctioned quarter-mile races at the Jean airport together with the Lions Club of Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Sheriff’s Department. There were no timing lights. A flagger started each race, and someone at the far end of the track picked the winner. Milt Heger, who raced there, has written down his memories of the track.

Background

Clark County owns the field, and its Department of Aviation runs it. Also called Jean Sport Aviation Center, it's used mostly for gliders and skydiving today.
