This eighth-mile strip held its first race on Sunday, April 20, 1969, as Interstate Dragways of Sikeston. Some ads wrongly gave the opening as May 20. Directions in 1969 put it four miles north of Sikeston on Route H (Blodgett Road), then half a mile on a blacktop road that bent sharply left before the I-55 overpass. Owner and manager Johnny Brewer built the new concrete strip, 30 feet wide and 1,500 feet long, on an 80-acre tract for $90,000, with bleachers for 1,500. It was AHRA-sanctioned, and ads said it was affiliated with the three-year-old Batman-A-Go-Go Club. The June 1, 1969 purse was $285, including $10 for the fastest person on foot over an eighth mile. Herb McCandless of Memphis won Super Stock on Saturday night, June 21, 1969. Racing moved from Sundays to Saturday nights in summer and back to Sundays when it cooled off.
Brewer later sold the strip to Phil Brannan, according to Jim New. Little is known about the track from the late 1970s to 2011. Dominic and Teri Blasco bought it in 2012, renamed it Dyno Dom’s Sikeston Raceway and joined NHRA in 2013. Larry Jeffers and Randy Merrick bought it in 2016, renamed it Jeffers Motorsports Park, and run it under AHRA sanction.
