In October 1959 the Kingsbury zoning board approved a request from the National Safety Association and the Hudson Falls Auto Safety Club to build a paved quarter-mile drag strip, 30 feet wide, with another quarter mile of clay for shutdown. The club, private backers and ads in the race program were to pay for it. Lawrence LaSalle got the construction contract in February 1960 for a site off Vaughn Road in Hudson Falls, and club work crews started clearing it on February 20. Whether the strip was ever finished or used hasn’t been found.
