History
Drag racing here has been confirmed as far back as 1968, and the track probably opened before that. Its early years need more research. George William Iuliano was killed on October 5, 1968, when his car overturned. On May 13, 1972, Bobby Brown was killed when he lost control of his D/MP Corvette just past the finish and rolled several times. The track ran under NHRA in the 1970s and now runs as an IHRA-sanctioned eighth-mile.
