Jimmy D. Robinson owned this half-mile asphalt strip, which opened on Sunday, May 20, 1962. It sat three miles east of Killeen and four blocks south of Highway 190. Top and stock eliminator winners took home modest cash prizes. Don Hightower became manager in October 1963. Skylark Field Airport, first called Killeen Municipal Airport and opened around 1966, now covers the site, and probably none of the old asphalt survives.
