The Free State Riders Motorcycle Club sponsored drag races around Greenspring. Ads for a June 26, 1966, race placed it at the club’s new grounds half a mile west of town, and the August 14, 1966, race was at Motorcycle Heaven, half a mile south of Greenspring. On June 25, 1967, more than 400 people watched over 60 entries from eight states, and Mickey Alvaro took top eliminator.
