This IHRA-sanctioned eighth-mile strip opened in late 2012 in Reynolds Industrial Park off U.S. 17, on a runway of the old Lee NAS WWII base that Peter Scalzo leased from the industrial park. Residents of Green Cove Springs complained about the noise, but the lease ended because another party wanted the land and the park didn’t renew. The last race was March 11, 2017. Scalzo hoped to race again if the land deal fell through, but that didn’t happen.
