The B.C. Custom Car Club got permission from Vancouver City Hall for Jack Williams to test his new dragster on a city street, the Second Avenue Diversion, also called Great Northern Way. Police closed the street on February 3, 1963, and Williams made three runs on wet pavement, topping out at 120 mph in front of 300 people. It was a shakedown before the 1963 Winternationals.
