No one has pinned down where this strip was yet.
Gainesville Drag Strip held its first race on August 14, 1955. The ad for that race called the venue Gainesville Speedway, a half-mile dirt track Max Looper built in 1947-48, and the drag races may have run there. A race on April 29, 1956, was sanctioned by SRE. The old speedway, at mile marker 484, now lies under Lake Lanier.
