This strip was reportedly built in the 1960s as a quarter-mile, but the earliest record found is from 1970, and an April 2, 1970, Newport News article suggests it was a new strip that year. Frank Strickler and Dan Burnell co-owned and ran it under AHRA sanction that year and planned weekly races. It reportedly closed for a few years and reopened in 1993 as an eighth-mile strip. It closed for good after the 2014 season.
