The Hi-Lifters car club, active from 1953 until about 1965, raced every Sunday on leased land southwest of Duncan. The asphalt strip was three miles west of town and a mile south on Cemetery Road. The first race was May 22, 1955, with admission 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children. The club resurfaced the track before the 1957 season. A 1961 article said the 30-member club owned the half-mile strip, and that year it raced on the first and third Sundays. In 1963 the club was talking about a new drag strip.
