This strip had a lot of names for a short life. It was Drag City Raceway in 1968-69, Maritime Dragway through 1978, and Eastern Dragway in 1979. In the 1980s it was Sackville International Raceway and Halifax-Dartmouth International Speedway. Laurie Lively owned the track in 1980, with Bill Jennings as manager, and Doug Lively of Sackville is also named as owner. Peter Johnstone and Ken Packham took over as promoters in 1981. Much of what’s known comes from a YouTube video. Traces of the strip still show in aerial photos of the Lower Hammonds Plains area of Sackville, near Rosemary Drive, with a subdivision built around it.
