Cushing Drag Strip was NHRA sanctioned by 1967, possibly earlier, and that year raced on the second and fourth Sundays. Races may have run at the municipal airport, built around 1943, two miles south of town. The Swedish magazine Start & Strip listed it among 325 U.S. drag strips in 1968.
