J. B. Tiller owned this strip from at least around 1964-66, and most of its racers came from nearby Tennessee. Tiller and his son Travis also owned the controversy-plagued Tennessee Valley Dragway in Kingsport, Tennessee. The exact years the strip ran and other details are still unknown. The Lonesome Pine Raceway oval, just southeast of the old strip, still runs today. After the strip closed, the town used it as an airport. Randy Necessary was promoting racing at the airport as of 2018. In 2021 the rough surface was cleaned up and several races were held on the old tarmac under the name Twin River Raceway.
