The Colorado Timing Association ran drag races on a strip owned by the Centennial Turf Club in what is now Littleton. The Turf Club opened a dog and horse racing track in 1950, and the drag races used a private east-west road on the south end of its property. The animal racing never did well, and the land was sold to a developer in 1981. The area, now called Centennial Downs, near Bellevue Avenue and South Federal Boulevard, is heavily built up with no sign of either kind of racing. What little is known comes from Hot Rod Magazine (May 1954) and the 1955 Hot Rod Annual (page 13).
