Some newspapers put this strip east of Garwood, but it was just north of Leeper in Cedar Bay Hollow. It reportedly opened May 30, 1971, and a strip in Cedar Bay Hollow, east of Garwood off Highway 34, was also reported opening in May 1972. On Sunday afternoon, August 6, 1972, Doyle Crosby of Garwood took second in his Chevy II, and three weeks later he won top eliminator in the hot rod class. The paved quarter mile drew plenty of spectators in its short life. When it closed, it was plowed under and returned to farmland.
