The half-mile oval, also called St. Lawrence Valley Speedway, opened in 1950. On July 4, 1957, it added a drag race to its program, with four trophies. It went over well and became a regular extra on later race cards. Racing at the speedway faded out by the end of the 1950s, and the site is now a residential area.
