Racing at this strip started as early as 1957, though incorporation papers weren’t filed until April 14, 1961. Cars ran on a concrete road on the site of the former World War II military base, and Charles Baker was the owner. On January 16, 1964, Don Nicholson ran 11.24 here in his ‘64 fiberglass A/FX Mercury Comet Marauder station wagon. The track’s exact location and years of operation haven’t been pinned down. One longtime racer thought it closed soon after Warner Robins opened in 1965, but another track is documented as running in Macon in 1968.
