George Brewer raced motorcycles, and after he quit he wanted a track of his own. He bought one in Sharpsburg in 1970, and in its first years it served motorcycles, go-karts and midgets. On July 4, 1975, he opened an eighth-mile drag strip for motorcycles only. By 1977, possibly earlier, it was running cars too. Danny Perry set a track record of 5.14 at 141 MPH in his Trans Am on September 12, 1992.
