Racers got permission to use an old stretch of road at Bednesti Lake, which one remembered as a spur on the right side of the highway heading west. The road was narrow, and that made the shutdown exciting. One old racer said the loser had to brake hard and tuck in behind as the road narrowed into the saplings, and that it was a blast. Another said more rubber went down from braking at the end than from burnouts at the start.
