Grace Hunsucker, Mark Clark and Randy Hunsucker filed incorporation papers for Angleton Dragway on June 2, 2003. The IHRA-sanctioned eighth-mile track was east of Angleton, and its first big race, on July 12, 2003, featured pro stock and outlaw cars. Richard Otwell bought the strip in 2006. It was later sold to an out-of-state buyer who planned to turn it into a heliport or helicopter base.
